DURHAM, N.C.— With the completion of online schooling, rising senior Jayda Adams recently took time away from her schedule to sit down with GoDuke.com to catch up.
Adams, a native of Irvine, Calif., missed the 2019-20 campaign due to tearing her ACL in the offseason.  She has appeared in 63 games in two seasons with the Blue Devils.

GoDuke.com: Where are you now?
Jayda Adams:
I am back home in California

GD:  How was finishing up with online classes/exams since everyone was sent home due to the coronavirus?
JA:
Finishing up classes was good! it was a little hard to stay on top of things because we didn't have to go to class in person but everything got done!

GD: How have you and your teammates been staying in contact, while being off campus?
JA:
My teammates and I are staying in contact a lot. We talk in our group chat and facetime all the time.

GD: How hard was it this past year to sit out and how has your body been feeling coming back from your ACL injury?
JA:
It was definitely hard to sit and watch, but I have learned so much sitting out. I am feeling pretty good about coming back and I'm so excited to play with my teammates again.

GD: How have you been able to continue to work on your basketball skills and staying active during this time?
JA:
I have a basketball hoop in my driveway so I am able to get workouts in. I have been trying to do Yoga with my mom. I also go on runs and do the workouts our strength trainer Ashleigh gave us. I also go to Physical Therapy three times a week so that keeps me pretty busy.

GD: Have you picked up any new hobbies or done anything fun with the family?
JA:
Honestly, I haven't picked up anything new but I'm really good at binge watching shows and movies for long periods of time and then going to annoy my family when I decide I need a break. Which they aren't too happy about. My mom loves watching scary movies so we're catching up on all the scary movies.

GD:  Have you been able to work on your cooking skills and if so what types of things have you been making?
JA:
I haven't really worked on my cooking skills because my parents make all the meals, but when my parents are tired of cooking I do step in and help. My tacos are pretty good and I can make a great steak dinner.

GD: What do you miss most about being on campus?
JA:
I miss being around my teammates and my friends the most. But also just being able to go to class and interact with people other than my family. Being at school just gave me the ability to wear something other than pajamas all day. The only time I dress up is when I go to the store.

GD: What books, television shows, podcasts or movies have you read or watched in the past few weeks?
JA:
I've been watching The Last Kingdom. It's been a week and a half and I'm almost done with the fourth season. The show is amazing. I have also been watching all the TLC shows like my 600 pound life and my strange addiction. I have been reading books I find throughout my house.
