Friday's meet will be a dual meet between the 'Dons and Indiana Tech's pentathlon and decathlon runners. The meet will begin at 5 p.m. and will not be scored
Saturday's meet will include Horizon League foes Northern Kentucky and IUPUI, as well as Trine, Indiana Tech, Saint Francis (Fort Wayne), Kentucky State and Huntington. Field events begin at 11 a.m. followed by track events starting at noon.
Spectators attending the meet are required to wear a mask. Tickets will be available to purchase at the meet at $10 per adult, $5 for senior citizens and youth.
This is the first of two weekends the 'Dons will host a meet this season. The 'Dons will return to the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan 22. for the Mastodon Invitational for the second and final meet home meet.
The men's team returns several athletes who broke program records at the indoor Horizon League Championships. Among those record breakers include Luke Beehler in the triple jump with a mark of 12.75 meters, and Dona Fagnon in the 60 meter hurdles at 8.40 seconds. The 'Dons finished sixth at the Horizon League Championships
The women's team returns several point scorers from last season's indoor Horizon League Championships. Among those returners are Dylan Kirkwood, who finished second in the pentathlon with 3,352 points, as well as a third place finish in the 60 meter hurdles at 8.86 seconds, and Madison King, who finished in second in the 3,000 meter run at 10:06.76. The 'Dons finished tied for fifth at the Horizon League Championships.
The 'Dons will compete one more meet before the end of 2021. They will travel to Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Ind. to compete in the Strive for Greatness Invitational on Friday, Dec. 10.
