BOISE, Idaho - Boise State head volleyball coach Shawn Garus announced today the signing of two prep standouts, Paige Bartsch (Helena, Mont.) and Jordan Miller (Goodyear, Ariz.), to National Letters of Intent. Bartsch is a 6-foot-3 middle blocker who was the Montana Gatorade State Player of the Year as a junior, while Miller is a 6-foot outside hitter who is a 2020 AVCA Under Armour All-American.

"Jordan and Paige are two amazing recruits," said Garus. "In getting to know each of them through this recruiting process, it's clear they will be a great fit for us on and off the court. I can't wait to see what they accomplish."

Recruiting Class Roster
Paige Bartsch | 6-foot-3 | Middle Blocker | Helena, Mont. (Capital HS)
Jordan Miller | 6-foot | Outside Hitter | Goodyear, Ariz. (Millennium HS)

Paige Bartsch
Bartsch is currently a senior at Capital High School in Helena, Mont., where she is a four-year starter for the Bruins' varsity team coached by Rebecca Cleveland. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker is a three-time Montana All-State and all-conference honoree. As a junior in 2019, Bartsch was named the Montana Gatorade State Player of the Year and the Western Athletic Association (conference) Player of the Year. With her senior year still in progress, Bartsch has helped lead CHS to its third-consecutive Montana AA State Championship match where the Bruins will play for their third-straight title on Saturday (Nov. 14). The team currently has a two-year unbeaten streak of 70-straight wins. As a senior, Bartsch is hitting .335 with 159 nine kills (3.5 kps), 44 service aces and 119 digs. As a junior, she hit .369 with 293 kills (3.2 kps), 90 service aces, 86 blocks and 127 digs.

Bartsch played her club ball for two different organizations during her career. The last was Mountain 1 of Bozeman, Mont., under coach Shanna Mack, the previous was the Capital City Volleyball Club out of Helena under coaches Tiffany Hofer and Amy Heuiser. At the 2019 AAU Nationals in Orlando, Fla., her team placed second in the Club Division, she was named to the all-tournament team.

"Paige has elite size and a skill set to be a great college player," Garus said. "I recruited her as a middle but she can play anywhere her team needs her. It's going to be exciting to see her compete in our gym".

Jordan Miller
Miller plays for Millennium High School in Goodyear, Ariz., where she is a two-year starter and four-year member of the Tigers' varsity team coached by Julie Vastine. Heading into her senior season, Miller was named a 2020 AVCA Under Armour All-American. As a junior, she was the region offensive player of the year, Desert West Conference Offensive Player of the Year and first team all-conference. Her team won the state title as a sophomore and was runner-up as a junior, in addition to four-straight conference championships. Miller is hitting .332 — in an abbreviated senior season due to the coronavirus — with 127 kills (3.5 kps), 12 service aces, seven blocks and 67 digs. During her career she has hit .295 with 801 kills, 60 service aces, 105 blocks and 360 digs.

Miller plays her club ball for the same organization, the Revolution Volleyball Academy, that current Bronco Ashley Hayden and former Bronco great Sierra Nobley played for in Phoenix, coached by Carl DeFriez. Her team advanced to the U16 AAU Nationals and competed in the National Division.

"Jordan has a great arm swing that generates pace and allows her to score from anywhere," said Garus. "She is a strong athlete and a great competitor. I also love her court presence...always smiling and giving energy to her team."
