Aaron Rodgers is coming off an MVP-caliber NFL season. He's also coming off his second straight berth in the NFC championship game.
But the longtime Packers quarterback also turned 37 in December. He just completed his 16th NFL season. He's coming off his second straight loss in the conference title game. And second-year coach Matt LaFleur still traded up to draft Jordan Love with the 26th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
All of those factors led Rodgers — fresh off a 31-26 loss to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers — to give a noncommittal answer regarding his future in Green Bay.
"A lot of guys' futures, they're uncertain. Myself included," Rodgers said. "That's what sad about it most: getting this far. Obviously there's got to be an end to it at some part whether we make it past this one or not. But just the uncertainties is tough and the finality of it all."

Rodgers was then asked what his next step how he "would take the next step:"
"I don't know. I really don't. There's a lot of unknowns going into this offseason now. And I'm just going to have to take some time away for sure and clear my head and kind of see what's going on with everything. But it's pretty tough right now. Especially thinking about the guys that may or may not be here next year.
There's always change. That's the only constant in this business. It's really tough to get to this point. Really, really tough. Especially with there only being one bye week, playoffs. It's a grind just to get to this point. And that makes the finality of it all kind of hit you like a ton of bricks. That's why it's a gutting feeling in your stomach."

Rodgers completed 372 of 526 passes for 4,299 yards and 48 touchdowns and five interceptions in 2020. That doesn't include his final game of the NFC playoffs against the Bucs, against whom he completed 33 of 48 passes for 388 yards and three touchdowns to one interception. Those are cold comforts, however, as Rodgers attempts to parse out his future with the only team he has ever known.
He signed a four-year contract extension in 2018 that would see him play for the Packers through the 2023 season. Whether he finishes his contract or seeks to finish out his career with another team remains to be seen.
