A Colorado hockey coach who has worked with multiple youth teams in the state faces criminal charges alleging he sexually assaulted a girl.
Jesse Davis, 46, worked as the director of hockey operations and player development of Littleton-based Colorado Select Girls Hockey Association since 2019. Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Davis on Thursday on suspicion of sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators believe Davis sexually assaulted a juvenile who had been staying on his property June 13, according to court documents obtained by CBS4.
The hockey association said in a statement on its website that Davis had been suspended from his job and all Colorado Amateur Hockey Association activities.
“At this time Colorado Select has received no information that the events giving rise to the charges involve any of its members,” according to the statement.
Davis worked as a hockey coach for 20 years in Detroit, Chicago and across Colorado, according to his biography on the league’s website. He previously coached the Breckenridge Bucks junior hockey team and worked with the Summit Youth Hockey program, Foothills Flyers Hockey Association and worked as the director and head instructor for Rocky Mountain Hockey School.
Davis remained in the Jefferson County jail Saturday, jail records show.
