Little icing is expected along the coast. Towns between I-95 and I-495 could see up to 1/10″ creating a slick glaze and coating most surfaces, including your car. The biggest concern will be outside of I-495 into Central MA, northern MA, and the Merrimack Valley. These spots notoriously struggle to warm up and could see 1/4″ of ice buildup on tree limbs, powerlines, and any untreated road, perhaps up to 1/2″ in a few high elevation towns. Scattered power outages are possible where ice gets close to 1/2″ as that adds 500 pounds of weight to a span of power lines.
