A La Porte man died after his car was hit head-on by a Michigan City driver who swerved into his lane on March 12.
According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, Eric A. Adair, 24, was driving his 2003 Honda Accord on U.S. 35 near Nicodemas Path shortly after 3 p.m. when his car swerved into the opposite lane and struck head-on a Toyota Camry driven by Nathan Blount, 32, of La Porte. Adair’s car then traveled back across both lanes and came to rest on its driver’s side along the northbound shoulder. Blount’s car spun, traveled off the west side of the road and struck a tree.
Both Blount and Adair were pinned inside their cars and were extricated, then airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment. On March 13, Blount died of his injuries, police were informed.
