UNION, Ky. - The IUPUI men's and women's golf teams will head to Union, Ky., to play Lassing Pointe this week as the spring schedule marches on. The men's will participate in NKU's The Jewell while the women will play in NKU's The Julie. Both tournaments are named after former NKU men's golfer Andrew Jewell, who passed away in April 2008.
The women's team will tee off at 9:10 a.m. and the men will begin play at 9:30 a.m.
FORMAT: The event will be a 5-count-4 format with teams scheduled for 18 holes on Monday (Mar. 29) and Tuesday (Mar. 30).
THE COURSE: Lassing Pointe is ranked as the No. 1 public course in the state of Kentucky by Golfweek Magazine and is known for its superb playing conditions. It opened in May 1994 and is located just minutes away from Cincinnati. The course will play par 71 and 6,724 yards for the men's event this week and par 72, 5,805 yards for the women's event.
THE FIELD: The men's field is made up of Kentucky Wesleyan, Northern Kentucky, Thomas More and Wright State and the women's field will consist of teams from Bellarmine, Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky, Thomas More and UIC.

LAST TIME OUT: The women's golf team placed fourth of 11 teams at the Nevel Meade Collegiate with a 54-hole score of 911 (298-315-298). Svejda finished t-10th at 11-over 227 (77-75-75). The men's team placed eighth of 11 teams at the Bash at the Beach with a 54-hole 910 (296-298-316). McCullough finished t-10th at an even par 216 (69-73-74).
UP NEXT: The men's team will be back in action on Apr. 12-13 when the Jaguars compete in the Dayton Flyer Invitational while the women's team will host the Lady Jaguar Invitational on Apr. 12-13 at Plum Creek in Carmel.
