ATHENS, Ohio—The Ohio football team wrapped up their second day of practice in Walter Fieldhouse today (Aug. 4). Redshirt senior O'Shaan Allison (Malvern, Pa.) is excited to be back on the field.

On starting fall camp
"It's always exciting to be out here. We've got a lot of young guys and I feel as though everyone can play. As long as you know your lineman assignment and technique, you're going to go a long way. With the young group have, I'm definitely excited for them."

On senior leadership
"I kind of talk to them one-on-one. I'm not as vocal with the whole team, but I'm definitely a leader and whenever they need help, they come to me and I teach them what they need to do, especially in the running back room. We have a few young guys in here, but like you said, we have a lot of experienced guys all around and they just piggyback off us. As far as the running back group—they all can play. They all did spring ball very well and came into fall camp firing around and I'm very confident in our running back group."

On competition within a position group
"We always push each other. We always run constructive criticism with each other like, 'Hey, you can get better at this,' or 'You could've hit that hole a little harder.' That's the relationship we have in that running back group. We're all pretty close to each other, and that's always a good feeling; developing chemistry and knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses and going from there."

On opposing teams' depth
"It's always going to be good to have three quality backs. We're going to give these teams a run and we're going to give it our best shot and we're going to be ready."

On preparing for Penn State and Iowa State
"Obviously, we want to win those games, we don't want to lose. It's always great to be able to play Power Five teams outside of conference games and just showcase your abilities. MAC schools sometimes play the smaller schools and stuff like that, but honestly, these are opportunities of a lifetime. We'll remember these moments forever, especially out-of-league games and big games like this. Our agenda is to win the game."

On team chemistry
"We highly emphasize being a family and coming together, even outside football. It all starts outside of Peden Stadium, developing that relationship with each other and transitioning that onto the field. We all get along with each other, we have talks and stuff like that, it's more than football. I'm very excited about this team; they're like my family and we can talk about anything comfortably. That's the most important thing."

On team goals
"The MAC championship is always the goal. We know what it takes to get there and I feel that this year is our best year as far as off-season work. A lot of guys are doing work outside of structured work. We're here indoors doing extra mobility, speed training and stuff like that. I do see a lot of guys taking that extra step—that hunger shows out there on the field as you see them running around and playing physically— very hard and fast. I feel like that's going to take us a long way."
