As numerous outlets have already reported, it appears that Jay Pandolfo, assistant coach of the Boston Bruins, has decided to step down from his position as an NHL assistant hockey coach after five years to join Boston University’s coaching staff, as Terriers Head Coach Albie O’Connell confirmed not too long ago.
Pandolfo played for BU back in the early-to-mid 90’s before his 18 games with the Bruins (and also his long, long, long tenure as a New Jersey Devil), so it’s not terribly surprising he might want to make a run at coaching for his alma mater.
Then Mark Divver appeared to find that Ken Whittier, assistant strength coach, has also decided to go try out for a position at Boston University.

Man, Allston must be going through a renaissance these days if people are fleeing the north of the city to come down there.
Joe Sacco and Kevin Dean remain as assistants to Bruce Cassidy, while the performance staff have yet to name a new assistant for Kevin Neeld, the head of Strength and Conditioning (Labelled as “Performance” on their website) coaching.
Regardless, we wish both Jay and Kevin all the best as they take their talents from TD Garden to Agganis Arena!
