BOISE, Idaho – Boise State men's cross country/track and field features exciting new depth this season after adding eight distance specialists to the 2021-22 rosters.

Freddie Carcas (1,500m – 3:48 | 3k – 8:14 | 5k – 14:05)
Carcas joins the Broncos from Loughborough University in England. He is a three-time Scottish Cross Country Junior Champion and has a Junior Mountain Running title to his name.

Angus Fitzgerald (1,600m – 4:08 | 3,200m – 9:18)
Fitzgerald was Royal High School's 2021 Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The Thousand Oaks, Calif., native holds the school record in the 1,500m (3:58.13) and is a two-time 2021 Coastal Canyon League Champion, winning a cross country title and the 1,600m. He also recorded a first-place finish at the 2021 CIF Southern Section Championships in the 1,600m.

Brogan Giffin (1,600m – 4:14 | 3,200m – 9:03)
Giffin is a three-time Vermont State Champion and earned All-America honors twice, once in cross country and a second time in the 1,500m. He ran a personal-best time in the 5k at the VA Elite XC Invitational, notching a fourth-place finish.

Hunter Lucas (Mile – 4:05 | 1,500m – 3:45)
Lucas comes to Boise State from Minnesota after earning his bachelor's in sport management. As a Golden Gopher, his top finish at the Big Ten Championships was 11th place in the mile in 2021. Lucas represented the United States at the 2018 NACAC Cross Country Championship in El Salvador, finishing 22nd.

Matty MacKay (3k – 8:30 | 5k – 14:26)
MacKay joins the Broncos from Lancashire, U.K., where he was a four-sport high school athlete. He recorded fourth-place finishes at the World Junior Championships and European Mountain Running Championships, helping Great Britain win gold at both events. McKay has accumulated eight International Mountain Running Championships representing his home country.

Max Milarvie (5k – 14:10 | 10k – 29:22)
Milarvie competed at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland from 2017-21. He posted personal-best times in the 5,000m (14:10.91) and 10,000m (29:22.91) in his final year. Milarvie notched a first-place finish in the British Athletics U23 10,000m Championships in 2021.

Aidan Roberts (1,500m – 3:48 | 3k – 8:16 | 3k Steeplechase – 9:05)
Roberts comes to Boise from Victoria, Australia. He was the Australian U20 National Champion in the 3k steeplechase (9:05.65) and the Victorian U20 State Champion in the event. Roberts took fourth in the 6k at the U18 National Cross Country Australian Championships.

Chandler Underwood (5k – 14:22 | 10k – 29:58)
Underwood joins the Broncos after graduating from Mississippi State with Cum Laude honors. He is a top-five all-time performer for the Bulldogs in three events, including the indoor 5k and outdoor 3k and 10k. He set three PR in his final indoor season as a Bulldog, and at the 2021 SEC Championships, Underwood ran to a 13th-place finish in the 10,000m.
