PHILADELPHIA – Twin brothers Hassan and Fousseyni Drame have signed an aid agreement to attend La Salle University, announced Monday afternoon. The two 6'7" forwards come to 20th & Olney after three seasons at Saint Peter's with two years of eligibility left.Important pieces to the historic run for the Peacocks to the Elite 8 this past season, Hassan and Fousseyni bring a wealth of size, skill and experience to the Explorer roster looking to reload. Saint Peter's entered the NCAA Tournament as the 15th seed after defeating Monmouth in the MAAC Championships, knocking off #2 Kentucky, #7 Murray State and #3 Purdue to become the highest seed in tournament history to advance to the Elite Eight.
On the season, Fousseyni averaged 7.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest in his 33 games played and nine starts. Fousseyni also led the Peacocks with 12 points in their Cinderella ending game against North Carolina, eventual tournament runner-up. Hassan made 25 starts and played in all 34 games, averaging 6.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Hassan increased his scoring to 7.3 over the course of the tournament.
Before the two brothers earned back-to-back Academic All-MAAC honors in Jersey City, the Drame brothers began to represent their country on the international level, taking part in Mali's 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup team that lost in the championship. The two brothers combined for 22.6 points, 16.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists over the tournament, Hassan leading the tournament with 66 steals. The two brothers also grabbed a trophy in the Mali jersey, winning the 2018 U18 African Championship.
