This year's Hall of Fame inductees are Mike Walls '03 and David Valesente '10. The Harry Booth Award will be bestowed upon Harry's widow, Toni Booth, while the team's award winners from the 2022 season will be recognized and the 2023 squad will be introduced.
Walls was twice named the Hawks' Most Valuable Player during his career on Hawk Hill, which ranged from 2000 to 2003. During his senior season, he earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honors at third base and also notched three saves as the team's closer. Walls led the Hawks in batting average in 2002 and 2003, and his team-best 65 hits in 2002 were tied for the 10th-most hits in a single season in Hawk history at the time of his graduation.
A native of Hockessin, Delaware, Walls wrapped up his career with the fifth-highest batting average in program history at .356, and upon graduation was tied for eighth in career saves. He would go on to be drafted by the Houston Astros in the 33rd round of the 2003 MLB Draft.
Hailing from Ithaca, New York, Valesente was the Hawks' 2009 and 2010 team MVP and graduated fifth all-time with 216 career hits, which now ranks seventh in program history. He also ranks sixth all-time with 45 doubles after leading the Hawks in that category in each of his final three seasons in Crimson and Gray. Valesente was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in 2007 and was tabbed for the All-Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball Team in 2007, 2009, and 2010.
After spending two seasons in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, Valesente returned to Hawk Hill in 2014 and served as an assistant coach for two seasons before becoming the first-ever head baseball coach at Wells College. He spent three seasons with the Express before taking over for his father, George, as the head coach at Ithaca College.
