Walmart Launches Newly Remodeled Supercenters With A Focus On Innovation And Convenience - Forbes

Consumers in southern Bergen County, New Jersey, today will see a newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter in Teterboro, while a unit in Farmingdale, New York also received a face lift. The renovations include the transformation of several departments, designed to help customers save time amid an enhanced shopping experience.

New elements at the Teterboro and Farmingdale stores include reconfigured layouts with more convenient access to well-shopped areas such as baby food, pets and paper products. There’s also Walmart Pay, a touchless payment app and online grocery pickup service.

“We’re thrilled to offer our customers an enhanced and upgraded shopping experience that will help them save time and money,” said Rezarta Mucka, Teterboro store manager. “These remodels highlight our commitment to the community we serve and I’m proud of our associates for their work in taking care of customers through the remodel.”

“We’re excited to offer these store upgrades helping customers save time and money, and we think they’ll enjoy the changes, too,” said Christian Thompson, store manager. “These remodels highlight our commitment and dedication to provide customers a great shopping experience, when and how they want to shop.”

To streamline checkout, the stores added new associate-operated regular lanes. Walmart touted the stores’ entertainment products, giving consumers access to top brands and the latest entertainment technology. In addition, the stores’ exteriors and interiors received a fresh coat of paint and new signage for easier navigation through the store.

Walmart is offering options for pickup and delivery. Grocery pickup for online shopping, and consumers never have to leave their cars. Delivery is contact-free, and express delivery allows customers to receive their products in less than two hours.

Walmart + membership program provides free delivery with no minimums, free delivery from stores with a $35 minimum, discounts on fuel, use of the Scan and Go app, free six-month membership in Spotify and Paramount+. Walmart+ costs $98 per year or 12.95 per month and includes a 15-day trial period.

As part of the opening, Walmart is donating $1,500 grants to The Chrohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Open Door Community Center, Bloom Empowerment, Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department, Moonachie Police Department and Oasis: A Haven for Women and Children.

A grant of $2,500 is being bestowed on local Farmingdale charity North Shore Animal League of America, and $5,000 is going to the Suffolk County Police Athletic League.
