SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior Isabel Bush scored three of her career-high six goals during a game-clinching 6-0 run as the Union College women's lacrosse team clinched its first postseason berth since 2016 with a thrilling 19-13 victory over Clarkson University on Saturday at Frank Bailey Field at Bertagna-Class of 1985 Stadium.

Bush had a huge game for Union (4-4, 3-3 Liberty League), scoring six times on just eight shots to double her previous career-best goal total. Sophomore Sydney McPartlon also came up huge for the Dutchwomen with a game- and career-high seven points, scoring four goals with three assists, while junior Grace Heiting added two goals and two assists and senior Lindsay Gerrato controlled 13 draws.

In sharp contrast to yesterday's game, Union came out of the gates strong in this contest, getting the first goal of the game from Bush on the opening possession and never trailing throughout. With the game tied at three after five minutes, McPartlon scored two goals as part of a decisive 7-1 run that gave Union a 10-4 lead at halftime.

McPartlon led Union with three goals during the opening half, while Bush and sophomore Drew Charlton had two apiece.

The Dutchwomen maintained their comfortable edge for the first 10 minutes of the second stanza, leading 13-7 with 20:08 left after Heiting's first of the day. But the game changed quickly for Union, as Clarkson (5-6, 3-4 Liberty League) scored six straight goals to suddenly tied the score at 13 with 11:02 on the clock.

But the momentum switched just as quickly after that, as McPartlon moved into the circle to take the draw and controlled three straight possessions, which resulted in goals by junior Kit Christian, McPartlon and Heiting 3:05 apart that quickly rebuilt the Union lead. From there Bush took over, scoring three times in less than two minutes to salt away the game and clinch the postseason berth for the home team.

After being badly outshot yesterday, Union returned the favor with a 40-25 edge in shots on Saturday. Junior Jenna Paszek made seven saves to earn the win, while Clarkson's Carolynn Pechmann kept her team in the game by making 10 saves in 35:23 of relief work.

Union will begin its postseason run on Wednesday, when the third-seeded Dutchwomen head to second-seeded William Smith College for a 4 p.m. matchup.
