WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford men's lacrosse team looks to make it back-to-back wins Saturday, when it hosts NJIT in an America East tilt. The first-ever meeting between the two conference mates, which will air on ESPN3, is set for a 1 p.m. opening faceoff from Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium.

- After a solid performance in last Saturday's 8-7 win at Binghamton, junior Chris Campbell became the first Hawk this season to win a weekly award from the conference when he was named the Defensive Player of the Week this past Monday
- Campbell, who is tied for first in the America East in turnovers caused with 1.83 per game, took home his first career weekly honor after forcing three turnovers and collecting seven ground balls against the Bearcats
- With three players forcing at least one miscue per contest, Hartford ranks fifth in the nation in the category with 9.83 turnovers caused per game
- Offensively, the Hawks' attack has been well balanced through six games in 2021 with 15 different players finding the back of the net
- Behind a team-best four multi-goal outings, sophomore Anthony Sericolo leads the team in goals (10) and points (11)
- Freshman Ethan Landymore, who has recorded at least one goal in each of his five appearances this season, adds 10 points on eight goals and two assists
SCOUTING NJIT
- NJIT looks to bounce back from consecutive losses to Binghamton and Stony Brook on Saturday
- Prior to scoring their first win at UMass Lowell last month (March 27), the Highlanders opened 2021 with five setbacks, three of which came against league opponents (Binghamton, Stony Brook and Vermont)
- Owen Corry led NJIT in its most recent defeat to Stony Brook, accounting for half of his team's scoring in a 12-8 decision
- Leading the Highlanders in goals (15) and points (19), he is seventh in the America East with 1.88 goals per game

- Hartford and NJIT face off for the first time in both programs' Division I histories
- The Highlanders became the newest member of the America East this past summer after playing their inaugural Division I lacrosse season in 2015
