Find out how your kids can bowl and skate — for free — through the summer in Champaign-Urbana
Save some money on these budget-friendly outings while the kids are out of school this summer
Summer has arrived, and it’s time to think about what we’re going to do. Admittedly, we are sure to have more options than we did during the summer of 2020 and that has us all pretty excited! Summer 2021 will bring the return of two popular promotions: Kids Bowl Free and Kids Skate Free. Get the scoop (and sign up now) to add these to your summer options as we roll into the warm weather months.
Kids Bowl Free
Registered kids age 15 and under can receive two free games of bowling each day, now through July during designated kids bowl free times. Shoe rental at each location is an additional fee. You must go to Kids Bowl Free to register your kids, and you can register at more than one bowling center by using different email accounts. Kids Bowl Free coupons are emailed to you on Sunday nights to be used for that week.
We have two bowling center options participating in Champaign:
Arrowhead Lanes: 1401 N McKinley Ave., (217) 352-5288.
Registered kids can bowl for free now through July 31, 2021.
Times: Monday- Friday: noon – 5 p.m.
Western Bowl: 917 Francis Dr., (217) 359-1678.

Old Orchard Lanes in Savoy will not be participating in Kids Bowl Free in 2021
Bowling Family Pass
When you sign up for your free passes, you can also choose to pay a one time fee and purchase a family pass for adults accompanying your children to the bowling center. The family pass allows you to have two free games for up to four adults during the Kids Bowl Free hours.
Family Pass Pricing
Remember that you will sign your kids up for free bowling when you create your account. As an example, a two-person pass would be valid for two parents to accompany their registered children and bowl during kids bowl free all summer long.
2 person pass – $29.95
4 person pass – $37.95
Kids Skate Free — Skateland in Savoy
Another option we have in Champaign-Urbana for indoor summer fun is Kids Skate Free.
Visit Kids Skate Free to register your kids 12 years old and younger for free skating passes to Skateland in Savoy. Skate rentals are not included in the Kids Skate Free program, and are $3.50 each. You can not combine Kids Skate Free passes with other offers, and they can not be used towards group rates, daycare outings or birthday parties. You will get two skate free passes per week.
Kids Skate Free is valid only during the following time slots: Saturday 2-5 p.m. and Sunday 2-5 p.m.
