Patriot League Announces Swimmers and Divers of the Week (10.19.21) - Patriot League Official Athletic Site

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Navy swept the men's and women's swimming and diving weekly awards, when the League office announced winners on Tuesday.

Navy sophomore Jonah Harm earned Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week while teammate sophomore George Moore was named male diver of the week.
 
Navy senior Sydney Harrington was named Female Swimmer of the Week and teammate senior Hannah Montau rounded out the awards as female diver of the week. Harrington and Montau both earn weekly awards for the second week in a row.
 
American sophomore Mimi Watts, Boston University senior Sezin Eligul, junior Kyle Falkstrom, and freshman Lyde De Hooghe, Bucknell junior Leo Kuyl, Lehigh graduate student Ann Foley, and Loyola Maryland sophomore Lily Mead and junior Max Verheyen all earned honorable mentions.
 
MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Jonah Harm, Navy, So., Placerville, Calif.
*Harm took home three first- and one second-place finishes this week against Johns Hopkins and Towson.
*He swam the butterfly leg on the winning 200 medley relay team, with a time of 20.88. His time was the fastest of all butterfly swimmers.
*Harm placed second overall in the 100 breaststroke (54.92), just missing the NCAA B cut standard of 54.27.

FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Sydney Harrington, Navy, Sr., Fairfax, Va.
*Harrington tallied a total of six first-place finishes on the week against Johns Hopkins and Towson.
*The senior won the 200 butterfly by 6.29 seconds with a time of 1:59.38.
*She won the 500 freestyle (4:59.86) by three seconds against Towson and eight seconds against Johns Hopkins.
 
MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
George Moore, Navy, So., New Canaan, Conn.
*Moore placed second in the one-meter dive (266.40) by eight-hundredths of a point in the meet against Towson.
*He won the three-meter event by almost 23 points with the score of 308.85.
 
FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Hannah Montau, Navy, Sr., Germantown, Md.
*Montau placed second on the one-meter board with the score of 274.88 and won the three-meter event (289.73) by 29.70 points against Towson.
*Both scores qualified her for the NCAA Zone Diving Championship.
 
 
Honorable Mentions
Mimi Watts, American, So., Raleigh, N.C.
*Watts took home first-place in the 100 fly (55.86), 200 fly (2:02.70), 100 free (52.46) and 400 free relay (3:34.24), in the Eagles' dual meet against Georgetown.
 
Sezin Eligul, Boston University, Sr., Istanbul, Turkey
*Eligul finished the week with two first- and second-place finishes in the 100 back (57.61), 200 medley relay (1:45.65), 100 free (52.33), and 400 free relay (3:31.35) as the Terrier's took on Bucknell.
 
Kyle Falkstrom, Boston University, Jr., Mundelein, Ill.
*Falkstrom totaled two first- and second-place finishes in the 100 breast (57.10), 200 breast (2:05.06), 200 individual medley (1:54.81), and 200 medley relay (1:33.65).
 
Lyde De Hoogan, Boston University, Fr., New Baltimore, Mich.
*De Hoogan won both diving events against Bucknell, winning the one-meter (283.80) by 46 points and the three-meter (279.15) by 21 points.
 
Leo Kuyl, Bucknell, Jr., New Paltz, N.Y.
*Kuyl finished the week with five first-place finishes in the 200-medley relay (1:33.75) against Holy Cross, 50 free (20.95), 100 free (46.66), 200 medley relay (1:32.40), and 400 freestyle relay (3:05.43) against Boston University.
 
Ann Foley, Lehigh, Gr., Merchantville, N.J.
*Foley tallied two first-place finishes against Patriot League opponent Loyola Maryland in the 50 free (24.01) and 100 Free (51.51).
 
Lily Mead, Loyola Maryland, So., Timonium, Md.
*Mead contributed to four of Loyola's five event wins overall as she took home first-place in the 100 backstroke (55.96) and 200 backstroke (2:03.87). She also swam the first leg in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

Max Verheyen, Loyola Maryland, Jr., Baltimore, Md.
*Verheyen contributed to four of Loyola's 15 event wins on Saturday, as his 100 breast (57.11) and 200 IM (1:53.59) times both rank among the top five in the Patriot League this season.
