erotoko.blogspot.com
HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team rebounded from a sluggish start Saturday to put away New Orleans in four sets, 18-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-10, in Southland Conference action at the University Center.

With the win, SLU (8-13, 6-3 SLC) remains in third place in the conference standings but moves closer to first after second-place HBU (16-7, 7-2 SLC) defeated Southland-leader Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12-8, 8-1 SLC) in four sets Saturday.

Shaking off a negative attack percentage in the opening set, Southeastern hit progressively better over the course of the match on its way to knocking off UNO (1-16, 1-8 SLC) for the second time this season.

Cicily Hidalgo turned in her sixth consecutive double-double and 11th overall this season. The Southland kills leader tallied a match-high 17 to go along with 11 digs. She also recorded four total blocks and a service ace to round out her performance.

Karlee Wilkerson helped out with 10 kills and three blocks, while Crispin Adams contributed seven kills, three blocks and six digs.

Gracie Duplechein posted her 12th double-double of the season, handing out 20 assists and picking up 13 digs. Ariana Hebert also dished out 20 assists, splitting time at the setter's position with Duplechein.

Hannah Brewer, a freshman from Benton, Arkansas, posted nine total blocks for the second time this season. The mark ties her career-high and the season-high for a Southland student-athlete. The Lady Lions combined for 12 team blocks in the match, reaching double digits for the eighth time this season.

Calli Collins led Southeastern with 21 digs and Nylissa Snagg contributed 17, career-highs for both.
