Happy holidays to all who celebrate: The Oscar winner Cher got you a beautiful mystery. On Sunday, she tweeted a photo of what certainly looks like a massive engagement ring, alongside the all-caps text, “THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER,A.E.” Here, Cher appears to be referring to her hot new music producer boyfriend, Alexander Edwards. Or do we mean hot new music producer fiancé?
Cher and Edwards were first spotted holding hands in public in early November, and in an impromptu Twitter AMA shortly thereafter, Cher confirmed the relationship. She also responded to comments from select fans — some of whom had opinions about the couple’s 40-year age gap — with rejoinders such as “LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH” and “As we All Know … I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY.” Cher also said that she and Edwards met at Paris Fashion Week, that he treats her “like a [crown emoji],” by which she presumably meant “queen,” and that “everyone” in her family has met him. Meanwhile, Us Weekly’s sources are saying that Cher feels “more alive and sexier than ever” thanks to the romance, and good for her.
So that’s all clear, but the meaning of the ring absolutely is not. Did Edwards use this giant pear-shaped diamond to propose to Cher on Christmas, or vice versa, or are we looking at a suggestive yet misleading gift? As many of her followers started sending their congratulations, Cher came back with an alternate explanation that did not clarify the situation. “I posted this cause his nails are so cool,” she wrote, resharing the pic. Sure, but at the same time: what is happening here?
Only Cher knows, and her most recent update for her followers is that she “just woke up” about 20 hours ago. Stay tuned I guess!
