On Saturday, Boise State went 7-6 overall with two teams advancing to the Gold Bracket semifinals. Unfortunately, they faced each other in the semis. Erin Martin and Wilson defeated Joey Benson and Sedona Hansen in straight sets 21-14, 21-18 to advance to the title match which they won. Martin and Wilson reached the semis by beating Oregon's pair of Vivian Donovan and Anastasia Lima 21-10, 21-11. Benson and Hansen reached the semifinals with a dominating 21-11, 21-17 victory over Oregon's Carly Wallace and Madelyn LaFollette.
Two other Boise State pairs competed in the Gold Bracket as well. Sierra Land and Katie Martin fell in two to Washington's Shayne McPherson and Chloe Loreen in a tight two-set contest 21-18, 21-18 in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Rorianna Chartier and Kaylee Mejia were defeated in another close contest 21-19, 21-17 by Washington's Scarlett Dahl and Natalie Robinson in the quarterfinals. The two Bronco teams then met in a consolation match with Chartier and Mejia winning 21-9, 21-18.
The Broncos also had two pairs play in the Silver Bracket with both teams falling in the quarterfinals, each tandem then went on to win a consolation match. Yasmin Tan and Maya Watkins lost a tough quarterfinal contest in three sets to Washington's Hannah Yerex and Avie Niece 17-21, 21-17, 15-12. They then moved into a consolation match where they beat Corban's Melanie Miller and Lauren Condon 21-17, 22-20.
Kylee Johnson and Ellie McDonald also competed in the Silver Bracket where they lost in two sets during the quarterfinals to Oregon's Ashley Haden and Bea Wetton 21-19, 21-14. Johnson and McDonald then won in three sets 21-18, 12-21, 15-7 during a consolation match over Washington's Kyra Peterson and Ashley Shook.
The Broncos will return to action next weekend when they travel to play four matches at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. They will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Houston Baptist, Tulane and TCU.
