The Husky seniors weren’t going to let this be their final game.
A pair of fourth-years shined — Pat Moore tossed her first career no-hitter and Noelle Hee drove in four runs, while super senior Sis Bates had two hits, two RBI and two spectacular defensive grabs to preserve the no-no. Bates, Morganne Flores, Taryn Atlee (who also had a big contribution with a 3-for-3 night), and Kaija Gibson are out of eligibility after this season, but most of UW’s true fourth-year players are not planning to utilize their extra year of eligibility — only Gabbie Plain will return to UW in 2022, while Moore, Hee, Livy Schiele and Emma Helm will not.
Moore didn’t allow a baserunner to Seattle U (30-21, 11-5 WAC) until a one-out walk to Carley Nance in the fifth inning, then a strike ‘em out, throw ‘em out double play ended her first career no-hitter — not just with the Huskies, but through her Big East Pitcher of the Year season at DePaul, and she couldn’t recall one even in her high school or club years.
After Kelley Lynch nearly gave UW the lead in the second but pulled her drive just a bit foul, Hee left no questions on hers, powering the 1-1 pitch the opposite way to right-center. That was her eighth home run of the season, setting a new career-high after hitting seven as a freshman, but this time in far fewer at-bats (8 in 80 ABs, compared to 7 in 121).
An offensive explosion in the third allowed the Huskies to take the biggest lead they’d enjoyed in almost two weeks, as UW sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five, punctuated by Hee’s 3-run double to cap her 4-RBI day, just the third time in her career she’s had 4+ RBI in a single game — her career-high of 6 has happened twice (2/10/18 vs Miami-Ohio and 4/18/19 at Utah).

...then in the fourth, Bates had to go way down
Washington (43-12, 18-5 Pac-12) earns a rematch with Michigan (38-6, 36-6 B1G) after the Wolverines edged the Huskies 2-1 in a classic pitcher’s duel earlier on Saturday. Neither team could break the ice until the sixth inning, when UM’s Lou Allan and Taylor Bump hit back-to-back homers to stake Big Ten Pitcher of the Year Alex Storako to a 2-0 lead. Morganne Flores got one back with a blast of her own in the bottom of the sixth, but couldn’t muster anything else as Storako matched her NCAA-leading 13 strikeouts per 7 innings and handed Gabbie Plain (30-3) just her third loss of the season.
Due to NCAA postseason rules regarding balancing “home” and “road” games, Washington will be the designated road team for the first game at 5pm. The Huskies then would be the home team in the potential if-necessary game (approximately 30 minutes after game one finishes).
