After a pair of shutouts against ranked opponents, West Virginia’s Jordan Brewster (Defensive) and Kayza Massey (Goalkeeper) have earned Big 12 soccer weekly honors, along with Oklahoma’s Emma Hawkins (Offensive) and Baylor’s Hallie Augustyn (Freshman).

Hawkins, a senior forward, registered her first two goals as a Sooner in back-to-back matches. In the 3-2 win against North Texas, she scored off a bicycle kick that sealed the Sooners’ victory and ended North Texas’ four-game unbeaten streak. The senior then scored the equalizer against No. 15 SMU in a 1-1 draw. In the two matches, she had two goals on five shots on goal.

Brewster and the Mountaineers faced two Top 25 opponents during Week 3 in No. 11 Auburn and No. 25 Samford. The senior defender anchored the WVU defense that held both teams scoreless with 11 total shots on goal. She scored a free kick from midfield in the 88^th minute to defeat Samford and end its 19-match unbeaten streak.

Massey was named Goalkeeper of the Week after holding No. 11 Auburn and No. 25 Samford scoreless. In the 0-0 match against Auburn, she recorded a season-high and career-high tying seven saves. Massey then recorded four saves against Samford, which marked a three-game shutout streak. The senior currently has 14 career shutouts.

Augustyn, a true freshman defender, has started every game for the Bears, including last week’s shutouts against Houston and Iowa. The defender scored her first career goal in the 55 minutes that she was on the pitch in the 3-0 win against Houston.  She played every minute against Iowa and was a key member of the Baylor backline that held Iowa to only two shots on goal.

This is Brewster’s fifth career weekly honor, Massey’s second career award and the first for Hawkins and Augustyn.
